About Handpost Farm

We have over thirty years experience of owning, training and breeding dogs. We own a registered smallholding on which we keep cattle, chickens and dogs, and have previously had other animals including horses, pigs and sheep. Some of our Labradors and Cockers are trained gun dogs who work on local shoots.

All of our dogs have wonderful temperaments and are bred to produce good natured, family or working pets. All of our dogs are very friendly, healthy and fun loving. Our puppies are well handled and socialised before they leave us.

Current puppies available at Handpost Farm

                 German Shepherds
Quality litter of eight German Shepherds. Five male and three females. Dark sable and Sable 
All will be KC registered 
Mum is our K.C registered German Shepherd Roxy (Redbeards Medion) and dad is a K.C registered German Shepherd Marley (Majestueux Thumbling) 
Both parents have lovely temperaments, straight backs, excellent pedigrees, good hip and elbow scores and clear health tests all of which can be seen at viewing 
Mum has tested clear Haemophilia A, Degenerative Myelopathy, Hyperuricosuria, Leucocyte adhesion deficiency, Mucopolysaccharidosis and Multidrug sensitivity/ resistance 
These puppies will make excellent family pets or first class working dogs
Puppies will be ready to leave at eight weeks of age after having been wormed regularly and treated for fleas
They will come with 4 weeks Petplan insurance, information sheets, KC registration, pedigree, starter pack of food, scent blanket, microchip and a puppy sale agreement.
Ready to leave for their new homes from Friday 17th April at eight weeks of age 
Puppies will cost £1400
 Viewings and deposits ( £200) from Saturday 21st March  
 Mum and puppies and pictures of dad and all corresponding paperwork available to be seen at time of viewing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Hopefully these will answer some of the questions that you may have as a potential puppy buyer
Will the puppies be vaccinated and flea treated?

Some breeders may de-flea pups  at 8 weeks of age with a chemical de-flea spot on treatment like Frontline or Advocate and some may give their pups first vaccinations but this can be done by the owner when they bring them home. Some breeders may not agree with subjecting  young puppies to chemical flea treatments, rather leaving the choice to the owner.

Vaccinations are given normally at either 8 and 10 weeks or 10 and 12 weeks dependant on the vet you use. If your breeder has vaccinated make sure  they give you the vaccination record so you know the brand they use  as vets like to give the second injection using the same brand, otherwise some vets may insist on vaccinations being done from scratch. Some breeders may not vaccinate, leaving that choice to the owner, and also due to vets requiring the same brand to be used which may not be available if your breeder lives in a different area to you.
